Only 62 miles from San Carlos de Bariloche, near the South side of Nahuel Huapi National Park lies El Tuco, a magnificent 9674 acres estate with all the natural beauty and richness in resources that only the Andean Patagonia can offer. Two important streams, Seco and Águila flow along this extensive estate and constitute an interesting source of water resources, together with a lagoon still unexplored that rests at 4757 ft of altitute.
Due to its natural forest and Coast Douglas-fir plantations, El Tuco offers great opportunities for reforestation and timber industry. The flora includes Cipréses, Cohiues, Ñires and Lengas and two very unique species found on the West side of the estate near the Chilean border, Alerces (Fitzroya Cupressoides) and Maniú (Podocarpus Nubigena).
The fauna includes South Andean deers such as Pudú Pudú and Huemul, native animals like the Huillín, Gato Huiña and a great variety of birds, among which AndeanCondor and Green-barred Woodpecker stand out.
El Tuco also allows the development of a wide range of economic activities such as ranching (currently with a stock of a 60 head of cattle and 40 sheep) soil for intensive farming, a 988 acres peat moss deposit, and adventure tourism industry, which has grown steadily for the last 5 years.
Constructions include a two-story 1539 sq. ft. main house recently enlarged, several roads leading to el Seco and Águila cascade, timber and firewood storehouses, horse shed for riding and a farmyard.
