Termed “a multi-story palace” by the German inventor, industrialist, and former owner Dr. Marx Fremery, this unique estate is brimming with fabulous features. A palatial tower-like stairway, a mighty pillar, and a sweeping terrace facing the nearby valley set the stage for a grand ambience throughout the interior. The entry area, consisting of a semicircle of columns, rises proudly through all of the stories. Additional accents include porphyry, red sandstone, chiseled decorations, and an entryway flanked by two bronze dogs.
The estate’s unmatched design is the enduring work of Fritz Klingholz, a skilled architect from Berlin who worked with Dr. Fremery, who purchased the original abode in 1910. Klingholz was also responsible for planning several notable train station buildings.
