This 13-acre island is located in the Abaco Islands in the Bahamas and takes its name from its interesting shape and the amount of bonefish in this region. Over the past five years, this formerly deserted island was turned into a first-class getaway. Five buildings totaling 15,000 square feet were constructed of the finest materials imported from Europe and the United States. The entire complex is hurricane-proof. The property is fully air conditioned, and Bone Fish Cay generates its own electricity and has its own desalination plant. All communication service—such as telephone, fax, and Internet—are provided. A newly and solidly built jetty and several boats are included with the island.
In the two villas and large main lodge are an owner’s suite and six additional suites, a total of seven double rooms—each with a modern bath—that can accommodate up to 14 people. The main building has 5,000 square feet of living space and is the center of this island paradise. The 30-foot-high cathedral ceilings made of cypress wood lend majesty to the main house.
Bonefish Cay has two long, sandy beaches and paths over the island. There are many shells and native plants, so the scenery makes for a lovely stroll. Residents can swim at low tide around the island's own coral reef and see a multitude of coral and fish, or they can paddle out in ocean-going kayaks and see dolphins. The area around Bonefish Cay is famous as a beautiful paradise.
For the sports enthusiast, Bonefish Cay has a fully equipped gymnasium with views of the Gulf of Abaco. A sailing boat, two new Yamaha personal watercraft, equipment for snorkeling, table tennis, and beach games are available.
The neighbouring island of Treasure Cay has an 18-hole golf course, and there are tennis courts on Spanish Cay—both only a short boat trip away.
There are daily flights from Fort Lauderdale, Florida, to Treasure Cay, which can be reached in 20 minutes by boat from Bonefish Cay. Flights can be chartered from Miami or Nassau to the neighboring island, Spanish Cay, where there is a port of entry and a 5,000-foot runway.
All furnishings—furniture, tableware, silverware, and boats—are included. Bonefish Cay is an exclusive and well-booked resort that new owners would be able to rent out immediately, if desired
