The Branch family lived on the land until 1879, at which time it was sold to the Biddle family. The Talley family began growing specialty vegetables in the Arroyo Grande Valley in 1948, slowly acquiring small portions of the Biddle Ranch as the family business expanded. The ranch would change hands one final time in 1995 when the Talleys purchased the final piece and worked to incorporate it into a land grant in 2004.
