Kiawah Island Real Estate Sees Surge in Sales

Kiawah Island, SC – Kiawah Island Real Estate (KIRE) has seen an impressive surge in sales activity, particularly in the past 30 days for the Garden Cottages in the Cassique neighborhood. KIRE has sold nine Cassique Garden Cottages since May 22, totaling more than $27 million.

Prices for the nine Garden Cottage properties in Cassique ranged from $2.65 million to $3.35 million, with three of the properties being model homes.

Cassique is a private Kiawah Island Club community located just before the entrance to Kiawah Island. Providing an exclusive lifestyle removed from Kiawah Island Golf Resort guests, Cassique affords residents access to all of the amenities of the Kiawah Island Club.

Conserving the natural environment has been a cornerstone of Cassique’s development plan. Residents of this exclusive neighborhood will find life analogous to residing in a nature preserve with an abundance of bird, marine, and marsh species.

Among Cassique’s range of home opportunities, the Garden Cottages, featured as the 2005 Coastal Living Idea Cottage Retreat, are the first collection of built-for-sale homes offered by Kiawah Development Partners (KDP), master developer of Kiawah Island. These single-level homes are designed around a central courtyard, placing outdoor living at the focal point of each home. Nature lovers and privacy seekers enjoy the Garden Cottages for their authentic materials, their superb craftsmanship, elegant appointments, and master suites as generous as they are comfortable.

Simonini Builders, widely recognized as one of the nation’s premier luxury custom homebuilders, manages the construction of the Cassique Garden Cottages. The company builds fine custom residences in Charlotte, NC and coastal regions of South Carolina, including Charleston, Kiawah, and the Hilton Head area. Simonini Builders has earned a stellar reputation nationally by earning all three of the highest honors in the industry: the National Housing Quality Gold Award and America’s Best Builder Award, both presented by the National Association of Home Builders, as well as the National Builder of the Year designation, presented by Professional Builder Magazine. Thanks to Simonini, the Cassique Garden Cottages won a Pinnacle Award earlier this year for high standards in craftsmanship in homebuilding by the Home Builders Association of South Carolina.

Cassique’s architecture takes its inspiration from C.F.A. Voysey, one of the most renowned British architects of the early 20th century. The neighborhood’s Clubhouse consists of Voysey’s, a restaurant and pub led by consulting chef Tom Colicchio of Manhattan’s Gramercy Tavern and Craft restaurants, and pro shop, while a separate wing contains the lounge and locker areas.

The Cassique golf course, Tom Watson’s first solo design in the US, is an intimately walkable design that recalls the links courses of Scotland and Ireland. The newest addition to Cassique’s amenities, a 9,000 square foot sports pavilion, features a family-oriented pool, tennis and squash courts, group fitness classes, and state-of-the-art weight rooms is within walking distance of the Cassique Garden Cottages.

“The design of the architecture and the quality of craftsmanship in the construction of the Garden Cottages is unparalleled. These homes marry form with function … they are livable as well as being works of art,” said Chris Drury, President of KIRE.
