The Ames-Webster Mansion in Boston, Massachusetts, Featured in Boston Globe
This prominent and elegant brownstone, which dates to 1872, was recently featured in The Boston Globe. The magnificent mansion is situated on the corner of Dartmouth and Commonwealth Avenue in the Back Bay of Boston. The freestanding mansion, one of the area’s largest, spans 26,000 square feet with fifty rooms and twenty-eight fireplaces. Designed for grand entertaining, the ornate interiors are imbued with rich architectural features including a mosaic tile entryway, a palatial great hall with carved oak paneling, and a four-story staircase topped by a spectacular stained glass skylight by artist John La Farge. The property, which has recently been converted to boutique office space, is equally suited for use as a single family home, multifamily residences, or commercial office space.
Attendees at Christie’s Great Estates 2009 Annual Conference, which is taking place in Boston this year, will visit the residence for a cocktail party, hosted by LandVest, Inc., who are representing the property. Click here for more information.
